In the day-to-day grind it’s sometimes easy to forget that our kids are not just little creatures we take care of, but individual people. They have their own communication and learning styles — this includes love languages — which grow and shift as often as they do.
Reaching them on a level that resonates requires not only an understanding who they are and how they operate, but remembering to apply that understanding in ordinary every-day life.
When life gets busy, I would have a tendency to shift into an auto-pilot parenting style from my own childhood, rather than the one I so diligently worked to cultivate for my own kids. It was frustrating to know just being busy put myself and my kids at a disadvantage.
